Bringing Jamaica’s Education into the Digital Age
Every parent wants the best for their child: the right tools, the right opportunities, and the right support to help them succeed. Access to quality books and trusted information has always been one of the strongest foundations for academic and personal growth.
Through its partnership with the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information (MoESYI), BookFusion is helping to transform how Jamaicans learn and read. This initiative is part of a national effort to embrace technology in education giving students, parents, and the public free access to eBook versions of required textbooks, as well as a wide range of local and Caribbean reading materials for all ages.
Whether your child is building early reading skills, exploring science projects, or preparing for CSEC exams, the resources are ready and waiting at your fingertips. With digital access, learning becomes more engaging, more flexible, and more connected, building a culture of reading that reaches into every classroom, home, and community across Jamaica.
Secondary School Textbooks and Resources
Many secondary schools across Jamaica now provide their students with access to BookFusion’s digital library through licenses arranged by the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information (MoESYI). These licenses cover official booklist textbooks and learning resources that are part of the national curriculum, ensuring students have the exact materials they need for their classes.
With a BookFusion account, students can read these textbooks on their phone, tablet, or computer. They can highlight important sections, make notes, and easily search for information — all in one place. This flexibility means that whether they’re studying at home, working on a group project, or revising before an exam, the books are always available.
For parents, it’s a reassuring way to know that your child’s core resources are secure, accessible, and in line with what’s being taught in the classroom. It’s a simple but powerful step toward making learning more consistent and connected for every Jamaican student.
Sponsored Licenses for Required School Books
Every school year, parents are faced with the challenge of sourcing all the books on the official school list. Through the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information (MoESYI) and BookFusion partnership, some of these required secondary school textbooks are now covered under a sponsored license, meaning they are provided at no cost to families.
These sponsored books are the exact editions used in the classroom, now available as eBooks that students can access anytime, anywhere. Once a request is approved, the book appears in your child’s BookFusion library, ready to read, highlight, and study from on any device.
For parents, this means one less financial burden and the peace of mind knowing that your child has the right materials from day one. For students, it means they can focus on learning rather than worrying about finding or replacing a book.
It’s possible your child already has access to these books through their institution. If not, they can request books through this e-form: https://ams.moey.gov.jm/requestebooks
